AlcoTec is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Traverse City, Michigan Team. The successful candidate who fills this role will continually develop techniques, processes and procedures that remove cost from the manufacturing process through raw material savings, improved quality and more efficient production. The Process Engineer will develop innovative ideas that are practical and are able to be implemented into the AlcoTec manufacturing process with little disruption or cost. Essential functions include leading research and development investigations to develop and test new techniques, processes and procedures; supporting production management in the collection, analysis and evaluation of production data for reporting and analytical purposes; reviewing operations and conferring with technical and/or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems, while working with production to implement changes; conducting and leading new product and raw material introductions; analyzing, correcting and improving product quality and plant processes relating to quality; developing written procedures to guide production personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes and requirements; ensuring that operators are properly trained in the idiosyncrasies of new materials and processes and that proper work instructions are completed; and managing inventory costs through shop order reviews, routing changes and standard cost updates.

Qualifications include a bachelors degree in welding, metallurgy or a related field, and five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in aluminum manufacturing or metal processing fields. Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent communication and motivational skills at all levels; be a skilled user of Microsoft Office programs; have the ability to travel overnight; and have the ability to lift 30 lbs, manipulate up to 1000 lbs, and negotiate all areas of our facility.
